Pack 1714!
We hope all the kids have had a ton of fun this summer. Now that Aug is here and the new school year has begun, we’re got a full year of events planned for next year. Just a few of the things we’ve got planned include Spooky-Ree Campout in Oct, a weekend sleepover onboard the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier, and an overnight visit to the Tennessee Aquarium.

Family Picnic:
When: Sat, Aug 8th 11am – 3pm, Unity Church Picnic at Allatoona
Where: Lake Allatoona, Riverside Day Use Park, Shelter A Pavilion

Bring your entire family out for the day! Visitors to the troop or pack are also welcome, Bring a Friend! We do ask that pets stay at home! We’ll have games, hotdogs and hamburgers (And vegetarian options) and We’ll ask people to bring sides. We’re going to try to have an area in the water. Sponsored by Unity Church.

We are requesting that all scouts wear their Pack 1714 T-shirts that day to promote our pack!

Pack Meeting – Getting to know you
When: Monday, Aug 24th at 6:30
Where: Unity North Atlanta
Our first Pack Meeting will be at 6:30 on Monday Sept 14th at Unity North Atlanta.
We ask new parents to arrive at 6:00 for a special welcome.
For those who have grown accustomed to having Pack meetings on the 2nd Thursday each month, we are moving them to the 2nd Monday of each month from 6:30 – 7:30 at the Unity North Atlanta church instead.
New scout recruiting event:
When: Wed, Sept 2nd at 3:30
Where: Public Library
Come join us to recruit new scouts. We’ll make with paper airplanes and play balloon games.
Heather Brooks will be coordinating the event.
Evening Hike:
When: Sat, Sept 12th at 7pm – 9pm
Where: Price Park
Cobb County hike evening walk with the scouts.

Pack Meeting – Camping with Pack 1714
When: Monday, Sep 14th at 6:30
Where: Unity North Atlanta
We’ll go over camping and what to bring.
McFarlane Campout:
When: Sat, Sep 26th at 5:00
Where: McFarlane Nature Park
Our first overnight campout will be held at McFarlane Nature Park. Everyone is welcome and there’s no fee. It’s a chance to meet all the new pack members and make smores over a campfire. We do this each year so folks can test their camping equipment close to home to ensure your tents are watertight. East Cobber Parade: (optional event)
When: Sat, Oct 3rd. Arrive 9:00 – 9:30
Where: Mt Bethel Elem. Park at Johnson Ferry Baptist
Uniform: Pack T-shirts
For those who would like to join us, we’ll be part of the parade marching as a pack in the parade and passing out candy.
Spooky-Ree Campout :
When: Oct 16th – 18th
Where: Bert Adams
Spooky-ree is a fantastic fall adventure for the whole family. This event is filled with crafts, games, range & target activities, inflatables, decoration contest, and more!
Cub Scout-aged boys and girls, siblings, and extended family members are all welcome.
We plan to arrive on Friday after school and depart Sunday morning. We’ll bring the Pack trailer and provide meals. More details to follow.
Lassiter Homecoming Parade: (optional event)
When: Fri, Oct 23th @ 4:30pm
Where: Meet at the Home Depot on Shallowford
Uniform: Pack T-shirts
Once again, we’ll be marching in the parade and passing out candy to all the local kids as we walk down Shallowford.
USS Yorktown Overnight:
When: November
Where: USS Yorktown
This will be our big event in the fall.

Tennessee Aquarium Overnight:
When: Spring 2027
Where: Tennessee Aquarium
